1920
During the rule of George V, Punjab Mittulaul Lalah begins his journey through the spice trade, based out of a small shed in Triplicane, Chennai.
 

The original Madras Curry Powder is born; blended and packed by Lalah and his sisters.

1924
Lalah’s walks away with laurels at their very first international exhibition, the British Empire Exhibition at Wembley.
 
   
Dowlathram Seth, Mittulaul Lalah’s dynamic and ambitious son, takes over the business and carries the brand to 25 countries via ocean.
 
Dowlathram passes away early, with only his eldest daughter Jayshree married. She and her husband, Rajkumar Manradiar from Erode, Tamilnadu take over the company.
1990
Lalah’s stops retailing in India and focuses on overseas business, expanding to a total of 37 countries worldwide. Meticulous systems and quality procedures are the highlight at Lalah’s.
Lalah’s walks away with the Spice Board award for outstanding performance in Export of Curry Powder for over 20 years.
2010
Rajkumar and Jayashree’s daughter, Laavanya, joins the business with a focus on innovation, after doing an MBA in Finance at the University of Hull, U.K. She is the fourth generation and heads New Product Development & Corporate Strategy with focus on continuous innovation.

2015
